The majestic Gray Wolf also known as the timber wolf is are very social animals in their family hierarchy. They hunt in packs, allowing them to capture large prey. Gray wolves inhabit a variety of northern forested areas and live between 8-13 years in the wild. Under ideal conditions they can live up to 17 years in captivity. Wolves have the largest known range than any other large mammal. They are very elusive, seldom seen and rarely photographed.
